Weather and Outside: Please be aware that we will be going outside if the weather is dry. Sometimes it's just for a walk for fresh air. Please be sure the children are dressed properly for the day and all their jackets/outerwear is labeled. Layers are great - we adjust as the day warms up.
Room Parents: Our Room Parents are Mrs. Grey , Mrs. Cosme and Mrs. Castellano. They will be contacting you via email about up coming events in the classroom.
School Alerts: I want to be sure everyone is receiving school alerts. Mr. Dunnigan uses the alerts to notify parents of schedule changes, school delays and closings in bad weather and any emergencies. Mr. Wines (HSA Pres.) sends emails and alerts through a system called Parent Square. That will let you know of any St Therese School activities coming.

What a WONDERFUL first week of school. The children are working hard at learning all the new routines in our day! We also have some beautiful singing voices in our class!!!

Morning Greeting: The beginning of our day is at 8:15. We will try our best to meet everyone on the sidewalk while the weather is nice!

Please be sure to label anything that your child brings to school. Last week we had several denim jackets and a few that the children didn't recognize on their own. If it comes in with your child and your expecting it to return with them put a LABEL on it!
Friday September 20th- Wear BLUE against Bullying! This is a tag day that helps our 8th grade students. If you wish to donate spare change-$1 it would be appreciated but not necessary.

Welcome
WELCOME!!!
So excited for our New PreK 4 year! Mrs. McDonald and I have been working hard to get the classroom set up and ready! It is always fun to start with a fresh new look!
Please remember our Pre-K 4 Orientation is on Wed. 9/4 at 1:00pm. There will be a lot of information given to the parents and the children will get a chance to meet with friends.
Our first day of Pre-K is on Friday 9/6. We will have a Noon dismissal.
I would like to have an email address ready for each family. Please send me the best email to contact you ASAP. My email is prek4@stthereseroxbury.org
Please email me if your child has any allergies or medical concerns we should be aware of. The school nurse will have to be notified of any medication your child will need during school hours.
I will need to know how many families will be using Early Care. Our Early care begins at 7:30 and is free of charge. You must have an absolute need to use our early care. Please notify me through email ASAP so I can put you on the list.
I also need to know if your child will be using aftercare. There is a separate form and cost for aftercare.

I will also be looking for at least 2 Room Parents for our year. The Room Parent helps out at class parties (Fall Fun Day, Halloween, Christmas, Christmas Show, Easter, and End of year). The Diocese of Paterson requires Room Parents to take a "Protecting God's Children Class" once in order to volunteer in school. I can give you that information if you are interested.

Come to school in your bathing suit and cover up. Wear safe shoes for running in water-no flip flops!
Bring a towel and a full change of clothes (LABEL)
Bring your snack and water separate from lunch. Ready to picnic outside (LABEL)

Thurs. June 6th- Final Day of Pre-K
Friday June 7th- Moving Up Day
Please bring the children to the Learning Center by 12;15.
They should Dress UP for the occasion-girls wearing dresses or skirts should wear leggings or shorts underneath.
Wear safe shoes for dancing and moving on stage-NO High Heels!
Show begins at 1:00 followed by small reception.

Wednesday 5/22: Summer Fun Day! Please Dress for some outdoor fun! Sneakers are best! Tweedles the Clown will be coming to entertain us with her magic!
Wednesday 5/22: If you wish we will bring your child to the Book Fair in the big school. Please send in a detailed note with the money so we know what you would like to purchase.
Friday 5/24: May Crowning at 10:30 in St. Therese Church. PreK has a small part in the crowning of our Blessed Mother Mary.

It's LAND OF MAKE BELIEVE WEEK!!!!!!!!!
We have finished all our required curriculum and then some! We will celebrate all our Pre-K wisdom this week!
We are very excited for our caterpillar friends to continue to grow. We should be able to see a chrysalis by the end of the week.
Land of Make Believe:
We will meet you at the ticket counter at Land of Make Believe at 9:15. The park is open till 2:00 -so enjoy as long of a day as your family would like!
Please wear your Saint Therese shirts ( anyone you have). W are in the park with many other Pre-Schools so it helps us locate you in the park.
Food- There is food for purchase at the park, but you may also pack a picnic lunch-they have many picnic tables to sit at.
Rain-If there is a Rain Out we will notify the families as soon as we can. Please pay attention for an announcement from us. A little rain in the morning not necessarily mean we are canceling.
If we cancel due to rain Wed. is a regular school day and Friday will be our trip to Land of Make Believe.
Summer Fun Day:
We will have a great fun day on May 22nd. Please dress for activities and fun-sneakers are best. Any parent who wishes to join us is welcome to. Please contact Mrs. Reed via email by 5/20.
May Crowning:
On May 24th we will participate in the church for the May crowning. Mass begins at 11:00 and all are welcome to join the mass.
